Since 2009, Community Housing has established its own community housing portfolio through a range of property development activities and leasing and management partnerships. Today we manage 74 homes as a mix of affordable, seniors and supported housing.

 

AFFORDABLE HOUSING

Bloomfield St – Developed by Community Housing in 2015, the Bloomfield Appartments provide thriteen 1, 2 and 3 bedroom townhouses for working Aboriginal people and families. 11 of the properties are funded under the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS).

St Mary’s Precinct –  South of Heavitree Gap and headleased from the Anglican Diocese of NT, this program provides fourteen 3, 4, and 5 bedroom homes available to working Aboriginal people and families.

Poeppel Gardens – Through a headleasing partnership with the Department of Housing and Commuinity Development, Poeppel Gardens provides three 3 and 4 bedroom homes for working Aboriginal people and families.

SENIORS HOUSING

Dixon Road and Elliott St – Through two headleasing partnerships with the Department of Housing and Commuinity Development, this community housing managed portfolio provides 1 and 2 bedroom units at 70 Dixon Road and Elliott St dedicated to seniors on low to moderate incomes.

SUPPORTED HOUSING

Renal Accommodation – Purchased and redeveloped by Community Housing in 2017, the Renal Accommodation program provides ten, 3 bedroom houses, dedicated to end stage renal patients and their families. Community Housing works in partnership with the NT Department of Health who nominate into the program.

MHACA Housing Program – Through a management partnership with the Mental Health Association of Central Australia (MHACA), CAAH provides tenancy management for 7 units offered to people living with mental health issues. MHACA nominate their clients into the program.
